Does my student need to be enrolled at Walden School to attend Camp Walden?

Nope. All school students of the appropriate ages are encouraged to join in the fun at Camp Walden.* In fact, invite a friend! The more, the merrier.

*Please note: Math Monsters and Reading Rebels is currently offered only to rising 5th and 6th grade Walden students.

How much are Camp Walden registration fees?

Camp Walden offers competitive summer camp prices divided into two pricing categories: Morning/Afternoon Sessions and Theme Weeks.*

  • Morning & Afternoon Sessions: $140/week

  • Theme Weeks: $300/week

Do you offer any payment plans or discounts on registration?

Yes! Customers may elect to pay a deposit of 20% of session fees upon check out and pay the remaining balance in three installments. Act fast because this deposit plan option is only available until March 20, 2019!

What age does my camper have to be to attend camp?

Camp Walden accepts students in the rising grades of Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Please make note of this upon registration; choose the grade level your child will be in the fall of 2019.

How do I sign up and pay for Camp Walden registration?

Easy. Go to the sign up page On the registration form, you will provide parent/guardian and camper information, make optional a la carte selections (t-shirt order, extended day enrollment, meal plan, etc.) and select sessions you'd like to enroll in.

Registrants now have the option of paying in full or enrolling in a payment plan. All camp fees are due one week prior to the start of camp.

Where is Camp Walden located?

All Camp Walden sessions take place at the Walden School campus, located at 4238 Westport Road in Louisville, Kentucky.

Do I receive a Camp Walden t-shirt when I sign up?


During registration, you'll have the option to purchase one of our official, nifty Camp Walden t-shirts for the low price of $5.

What times should I drop off and pick up my camper?

Campers may be dropped off between 8:30am - 9:00am for morning and full-day sessions. For afternoon sessions, please arrive between 12:30pm - 1:00pm. 

Identification is required by parents/guardians who are authorized for pick-up. Campers should be promptly picked up after their morning sessions at 12:00pm or afternoon sessions at 4:00pm. Note: A $10 late fee after 4:15pm will be assessed and payment will be required at time of pick up if the camper is not enrolled in the extended day program.

Is there an extended day program offered at camp?

Yes. An extended day program is offered at Camp Walden and includes late afternoon hours. During extended day, campers will participate in fun games, art activities, gym sports, watch movies, etc. Parents/guardians have the option of enrolling their camper in the extended day program when they sign up for Camp Walden.

$50/per week

EVENING: 4:00-6:00PM
Campers may stay until 6:00pm after their afternoon or full-day camp session. A $25 late fee will be applied if campers are not picked up by 6:00pm.

Is There Early Morning Childcare Offered at Camp?

Yes. An early morning childcare program is offered at Camp Walden from 7:30-8:30am. This means you may drop off your camper as early as 7:30am. Parents have the option of enrolling their camper in the early morning childcare service when they sign up for Camp Walden.

$50/per week

Is lunch provided at Camp Walden?

Lunch is provided at the cost of $25 per/week. A full deli bar will be offered Monday-Thursday and pizza will be served on Friday! Campers may also bring their own lunches; those who are staying for an entire day are encouraged to purchase or bring their own meals. Lunch period at camp is between 12:00-1:00pm.

Who teaches or leads the camp sessions?

Camp sessions are either led by a Walden School faculty/staff member, Walden graduates, Walden parents or local professionals.

Camp Walden was founded in 2011 by Walden School, an independent K-12 school in Louisville, KY. For the past seven years, Camp Walden has strived to create a learning atmosphere that emulates Walden's own educational philosophy. Hands-on learning, creative innovation and individualized attention are key components of each camp session.
